Sullivan Mahoney LLP is privileged to act as Legal Counsel to the 2022 Canada Summer Games which will take place in Niagara from August 6 to 21, 2022.
From the time the Games were awarded to Niagara, we recognized their importance to our community as a whole. Given our firm’s rich tradition of community involvement, we were excited to become involved as Counsel to the Games when we were selected to do so in late 2019.
We believe that this appointment was a perfect fit for our firm given our “Client Committed/ Community Minded” philosophy. Those are separate but related values and are more than just words to us. Sullivan Mahoney has a long history of being actively involved in our community. At the same time, we have earned respect for the quality of our legal work and our unrelenting commitment to the best interests of our clients. Our work for the Games allows us to do both.
Our involvement began prior to the onset of COVID 19. We understood at that time how significant the Games would be to the Niagara Region. With the influx of athletes, coaches, families and spectators, we felt that the Games would provide a significant economic boost to the communities in which we work and live. We also believed that the Games would showcase all that the Region has to offer as a prime tourist destination and as a superior place to live and invest in business. For our residents, the Games will provide yet another reason to be proud of the Niagara region.
Since the onset of COVID-19, our commitment to support the Summer Games and its economic benefits to the region has only deepened. We are all living with stress and uncertainty that we have never before experienced. As a community, Niagara will recover, but it will be a slow process.
As we recover, we will begin to see light at the end of the COVID 19 tunnel. We hope and believe that the prospect of having world class athletes come to Niagara to compete in the 2022 Games, with all of the attendant benefits to our Region, will be an important part of that light.
We are proud to be associated with the 2022 Canada Summer Games.
