Adam Patchet B.B.A. (Hons.), CPA, J.D.

Adam is a member of the Litigation and Tax Law practice groups.  He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013 and qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2010. 

Adam is a tireless advocate for his clients.  His litigation practice focuses on complex commercial, tax and estate disputes.  Adam has extensive experience acting for taxpayers in the Tax Court of Canada and in the administrative appeal process.  He has successfully resolved a wide range of tax disputes, including with respect to income tax, the GST/HST, allegations of tax avoidance, tax withholding and source deduction requirements, tax credit claims, non-resident taxation and director liability for outstanding taxes.   

His tax practice also includes representing taxpayers under audit and investigation by the CRA, and assisting taxpayers in obtaining relief from penalty and interest charges through the CRA’s voluntary disclosure and taxpayer relief programs. 

Adam articled and completed two summer terms in Toronto at an international law firm.  Prior to joining Sullivan Mahoney, Adam was a senior associate in the tax litigation practice at a national law firm affiliated with one of the Big 4 accounting firms. 

Before studying law, Adam worked closely with migrant agricultural workers at farms across Southern Ontario and parts of Mexico.  Through his education and work with agricultural workers, Adam has developed a working proficiency in Spanish.
